WISKII Club Week: Her Journey Into Boxing

Everyone has their own reason for moving.

For some, it's about getting stronger. For others, it's a way to switch off, work through a tough time, or find something that feels entirely their own.

For our WISKII Club Week interview, we caught up with a passionate boxer @stellaklilly to talk about what first drew her to the sport, how she works on her reflexes, and what she'd tell a woman who's been thinking about trying boxing but feels a little intimidated.

Her story is a reminder that you don't have to feel ready to get started. Sometimes, you just have to give yourself a chance.

Finding Her Way Through Boxing

Q: What got you into boxing?

A: When I first came across boxing, I was going through a really rough time in my life. I felt pretty lost and needed something that gave me a sense of purpose. Boxing became that thing for me.

Sometimes, you find something at a time when you need it most. What starts as a way to keep yourself busy can turn into something that gives you focus, something to work toward, and a reason to keep showing up.

That's what boxing became for her. And over time, it grew into much more than just a workout.

The Secret to Sharper Reflexes? Repetition.

Q: How do you work on your reflexes?

A: At fight training, we do a lot of drills, repetition work, and defensive training. We spend a lot of time working on our reflexes, so I'd say repetition is key.

There's no shortcut to getting better at something. In boxing, it's about practicing the basics, learning to react, and getting more comfortable with each movement over time.

If you're new to boxing, you don't need to get everything right from day one. Start with the fundamentals, listen to your coach, and give yourself time to find your rhythm. Progress comes from putting in the work, one session at a time.

What She Looks for in Her Workout Clothes

Q: What kind of clothes do you like to train in?

A: I like to train in clothes that are comfortable, stay in place, and are breathable. With WISKII, I feel like the clothes move with me. I never have to adjust them, so I can focus purely on my boxing training.

When you're focused on your next move, the last thing you want is to stop and adjust your outfit.

For boxing and other high-energy workouts, a comfortable fit makes all the difference. Think breathable fabrics, a secure waistband, and enough stretch to move freely through every drill.

At WISKII, we believe what you wear should support the way you move, without getting in the way. Whether it's boxing, Pilates, or your everyday workout, feeling comfortable in your own skin is always a good place to start.

Her Advice for Women Who Want to Try Boxing

Q: What would you say to women who want to try boxing but feel intimidated?

A: I know how scary and intimidating it can be to walk into a boxing gym, especially because it's a male-dominated sport.

I'd recommend looking at boxing gyms in your area and checking out their social media. See if they feature both men and women training, so you can get a feel for the environment.

And honestly, just do it, even if you're scared. I think the hardest part is that first session — actually walking through the door. But once you've been once, you'll start building a little confidence, and it gets easier from there. Before you know it, you might be completely hooked on boxing, just like me.

We love this advice because it's so easy to wait until we feel confident enough to try something new. But confidence doesn't always come first. Sometimes, it comes from doing the thing that scares you a little.

If boxing has been on your mind, here's how to make that first step feel a little easier.

01. Find a gym that feels right for you.

Look for beginner-friendly classes and take a look at the gym's social media to get a sense of its community. If you're unsure, reach out and ask what to expect from your first session.

02. Don't worry about knowing what to do.

You're there to learn. Let your instructor know you're a beginner, focus on the basics, and take things at your own pace.

03. Give yourself time.

Your first class might feel unfamiliar, and that's completely normal. You don't have to be good at something for it to be worth trying.

04. Just show up.

You might surprise yourself. And even if boxing doesn't become your new favorite thing, you'll have tried something you once thought was out of reach.

Sometimes, that's a win in itself.

A Little Reminder From WISKII Club Week

We all have our own way of finding strength. It might be through boxing, a favorite workout, a new challenge, or simply making time for ourselves when life gets busy.

What matters is finding something that makes you feel good, keeps you curious, and reminds you what you're capable of.

And if there's something you've been wanting to try but keep putting off, maybe this is your sign to give it a go.

You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to start somewhere.

Here's to moving in your own way, finding your people, and becoming a little more yourself along the way.

Dare to dream. Move with WISKII.
